Film photography adds something to your memories that no other medium can.
You have three choices of film photography with me: Medium Format, 35mm Photojournalist, and Toy Camera.
Let’s take a closer look at each one.
Medium format, with Portra 400 film, is ideal for slowing down, taking in the moment, and capturing the lushness of life, especially colors, textures, and skin tones.
It shines in portraits, but, as you can see here, it’s dreamy, even ghost-like on the dance floor.
The photojournalist’s choice, vintage 35mm, black and white or color, is ideal for capturing real life as it unfolds, a daily newspaper’s take on your wedding day, with the depth and clarity of deep contrast between light and dark.
It shines during the real life, unplanned, unposed, unprepared moments of the day.
The Holga is an all-plastic camera, often called a “toy camera.” Even the tiny lens is plastic. So, it gives a child-like playfulness and surreal feel to your wedding, with often unpredictable effects on the film, including halo, flare, and haze, as seen here. It is ideal for spontaneous moments, such as during the calenda and dance floor, but it also gives a whimsical care-free feel to those in-between moments, such as here during formals.
