Style
My stylistic approach is driven by emotion. Not commercial polish. My strongest influences are independent-film auteurs. My objective is to create a seamless experience, a ride on a flowing ribbon, with no room for boredom, aimlessness, or cheesiness.
Simplicity

Space
My approach, whether working alone or with my team, is different from those who crowd the bride all day like paparazzi with no regard for her or the groom or guests. We don’t get in the bride’s face and stay there. We keep a low profile, a small footprint, rather than a big production with gear all over.
Keeping it intimate
Let me share an example of an intimate wedding session far off the beaten path in Oaxaca. Not wanting a crowd for their private moment, they entrusted me with photography, videography, and drone. Far from being overwhelmed by the task, I thrived on having complete control over the look & feel, the timing, the angles. No waiting around, no competing for time, space, or angles. I was able to work efficiently on one singular vision throughout the session, and we all loved the results.

We are so lucky to have had Douglas introduced to us to be our wedding photographer. My husband and I are not big on photo shoots, but Douglas made them fun, relaxed, and let us be ourselves the entire time. He was very patient throughout the shoots and had great ideas/suggestions. As far as turnaround time, obviously wedding pictures take quite a bit of time, but he sent us a great selection of pictures just a couple of days after the wedding so that we could start looking at them. After he edited the photos, I had some preference on the effects of some, and he was very receptive to my preference and quickly made the edits I had requested. Lastly, although we were born in Mexico, we live in the US. Douglass had the best of both worlds. He is fluent in both english and spanish, which allowed us to express as was natural to us, plus it made the communication a lot easier! 10/10!

Planning a wedding in Oaxaca from Boston coming out of the pandemic was challenging, and we felt like we were “flying blind” a little bit selecting vendors. Right away, Doug was responsive and we were impressed by his photography style and gallery of past photos. Working with him over the next year and, of course on the day-of, proved to be a great choice. Our wedding was small and laid back, and while we wanted photos to remember the day, we didn’t want it to distract us from enjoying the moment. Doug seamlessly accomplished just that. We initially didn’t want a videographer, but decided at the last minute we wanted some video footage of the event. Doug and his videography team came through for us at the last minute–and at a very reasonable rate for booking both photo and video. We LOVE looking back on our photos and wedding videos and it brings us right back to that special day. We could not recommend Doug more!!
