Top Wedding Planners for Oaxaca, Mexico

Welcome to my take on the question of who may be the top wedding planners for Oaxaca, Mexico. 

I have worked with many wedding planners in Oaxaca over my 16-plus years as a destination wedding photographer, and am happy to share my positive experiences with each of the planners listed here. 

The importance of choosing a top wedding planner for your Oaxaca wedding cannot be overstated. Good planners greatly reduce your stress and increase your enjoyment of a day that already goes by way too fast.

(A note about this list: I speak from personal experience, having photographed weddings in Oaxaca, where I have lived since 2007. And I do not get any kick-backs from any of the planners or anyone else.)

Eventos Marcela González

Marcela was the planner with whom I covered my first wedding, back in 2008 (and this is one of my photos from it). She was then one of the only full-time wedding planners in Oaxaca. How times have changed! But after all these years one thing has remained the same: She still sets the standard for excellence, professionalism, and service, and so rightfully continues to be trusted by the most discerning clientele.

Vero Vivas Eventos

Vero was also among the first planners I worked with, and I was impressed by how quickly she became one of the most professional, prepared, and trusted planners in Oaxaca. We have done many weddings together since and I always look forward to them, knowing the day will be in good hands.

Lore Chagoya Eventos

I had my first wedding with Lore several years ago (time flies!) and have always enjoyed the seamless, wonderful weddings she creates for her couples.

Lucy Ferreira

Lucy and I had our first wedding together more recently, but we had been looking forward to the opportunity for much longer, as she is one of the most sought-after planners for elegant, luxurious weddings in Oaxaca. The photo above is one of my faves from our first wedding together.

Luis Bourguet

Luis and I go way back to when he was one of Marcela González’s most trusted coordinators. Since then, he’s excelled as a planner in his own right, and we’ve had many very memorable weddings, like the one with the couple above at Loma Noble.

Azul Bonito

Azul Bonito is the go-to planner for your Oaxaca beach wedding in Puerto Escondido. I have had the great pleasure of capturing incredible intimate weddings with them, like the one above at Casa Mar y Mar about a half hour down the coast from Puerto.
